Hi there,
Car insurance premiums for the same driver and car can differ a lot from one company to the next, and renewal is the easiest moment to switch. Here's a 30-minute routine to do about three weeks before your policy renews.
1. Find your declarations page
It lists your coverage limits and deductibles. You need it to compare quotes for the same coverage.
2. Get three quotes
Ask for the same limits and deductibles from at least three insurers, and ask each one which discounts you qualify for.
3. Try a different deductible
Ask what the premium would be with a higher deductible. Only choose it if you could pay that amount after an accident.
4. Switch without a gap
Start the new policy before the old one ends, then cancel the old one in writing. Never let coverage lapse.
