About The Nickel Stretcher
For most households a car is the second-biggest expense after housing, and most of what it costs happens after you drive it home. We explain those costs plainly, so you can bring them down.
What we do
We publish car cost guides, a true-cost calculator, a used-car buying checklist and a free inspection checklist. We send The Glovebox to people who sign up for it, and we're preparing The Used Car Buying Course.
What we don't do
- We aren't a dealer, lender, insurer or repair shop, and we don't sell cars, loans or policies.
- We don't sell leads or take commissions or advertising from car companies, dealers or lenders.
- We don't give financial, legal or mechanical advice about your specific situation or car.
- We never sell or share your email address.
